Our Team

Max Annis, LAc

Max Annis graduated from the Pacific College of Health and Science with a Master of Science Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). He developed his practice and skills working in community clinics and private practice for over 6 years before joining ORA in 2020. Max specializes in treating orthopedic, digestive, and psycho-emotional issues. His goal is to help each patient heal and to empower them to regain harmony throughout their lives with lasting lifestyle changes. He also works with women in all areas of fertility and pregnancy support. Max also works with individuals to treat all stages of addiction and recovery.

Born into a family of three generations of physicians, Max has always been drawn to healing. He found acupuncture after receiving treatment for his neck and back pain; after seeing success in these treatments, he explored the philosophy of TCM and decided to dedicate himself to its practice. He encourages his patients to stretch, hydrate and meditate, and to always set aside time to calm, repair and reorganize their minds.

When Max is not treating patients, you can find him reading, at the gym, playing the drums, drawing or playing chess.

She also has five plus years of community acupuncture experience.

Originally a student of astrology, she was drawn to acupuncture on realizing that the two shared a core philosophy: theidea that humanity and one’s well-being is reflected within the heavens and the earth, and that whenwe live in harmony between the two, we find true balance.  She encourages her clients to cook their food, as raw food can slow down the digestive system and impede one’s ability to send nutrients through the body; warm foods will keep the digestive fire hot and active.

During her free time, Janelle enjoys dancing and singing, taking care of her plants, spending time in nature, reading and writing fiction, and practicing yoga.

Our Founding Team

KIMBERLY ROSS

FOUNDER & CEO

After being diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes at age 11 and struggling with health-related issues throughout the years, Kimberly finally found great relief in acupuncture 5 years ago after receiving treatment from Gabriel Sher, now ORA's Director of Acupuncture. The concept of ORA was conceived during her time at Harvard Business School, in an attempt to make acupuncture more approachable to others experiencing health issues.

Kimberly continues her mission of helping others feel their best and achieve optimal well-being. She started a nonprofit when she was just 14 years old called Safe-sittings, in order to provide babysitters with Type-1 Diabetes for kids with Type-1 Diabetes. Safe-sittings was acquired by Beyond Type 1 in 2016.

Today, Kimberly is the Founder and CEO of ORA, an acupuncture and wellness practice in the heart of New York’s Noho, bringing a highly-curated and elevated acupuncture experience to New York.
